What’s been happening:

Amy Z. Quinn is an independent journalist, working both in print and online media. A Philadelphia native and proud Daily Collegian alumna, Quinn began her career in journalism covering South Jersey for the Philadelphia Inquirer. After several years as a reporter, editorial writer and columnist at the Asbury Park Press, Quinn began writing on her own site, Citizen Mom, in 2004. Currently, she writes a column of the same name for the Philadelphia City Paper, and is a freelance contributor to the Inquirer and the Allentown (Pa.) Morning Call. She wrote an online column on politics and pop culture for McClatchyDC.com, and is a past winner of the James K. Batten Award for Excellence in Civic Journalism (1996) and the Scripps Howard Foundation National Journalism Award for Public Service (1997). She lives in South Jersey with her husband, John, an editor at the Inquirer. They have a son, Jack.
